Last night, as I switch from one channel to another, I found myself watching Oprah. And it was a special episode. It was an interview to Elie Wiesel, a survivor from the Nazis. I don’t know anything about the Nazis except that Hitler was their leader and that he was a mass murderer, but that night as they went around Auschwitz Camp, the camp where those Nazis led these Jews to their death. I felt a tingle of pain in my heart, because during those times, it is HUMAN to be INHUMAN. And inside that camp, DEATH is a norm.

Men, women, children, elderly—all of them were treated inhumanly. The Nazis took their belongings, their citizenships, their names, their identities, and lastly their lives. They were either be slaves or die by means of gas chambers, crematorium, or starvation.

And then Oprah asked Elie how he feels when he remembers the inhuman treatment of these Nazis to them. Then he answered that he feels angry, angry because he still sees these inhuman treatment all over the world, and that he is still helpless.

All I know is that I am blessed that I have lived this life instead of the life he had lived. But then again, it makes me think, I don’t want to feel helpless. I want to help. I will help.

And for all those who have died, I remember. And with that I will start within.
